Theancient Celtic festival Lughnasadh (loo nah sah,) markING the beginning of harvest Season, is celebrated on August 1st, halfway between Summer Solstice and Autum Equinox. Traditionally, this was the time when the first grains were cut and harvested. Marking the first culling of the grain was an especially meaningful event in preparation for sustenance during the cold winter months.
